Final bulk detergent has a high density, between 550 and 700 gr/lt. Active matter is between 7 to 18%, depending on formulation. NTD Plant is able to process all basic raw materials used for producing powder detergents.
MAIN PLANT SECTIONS
Granulated Detergent Plant or so called NTD (No-Tower Detergent) Plant is composed of the following main sections:
- Premixing and dosing of solid raw materials
- Dosing of liquid raw materials
- Drying and cooling
- Sieving from lumps
- Post addition
Premixing of solid raw materials is a batch-wise process, carried out by means of weighing system, mixer and powders conveying equipment.
Premixed powders are dosed and fed to granulation by means of a dosing conveyor, while liquid raw materials dosing is performed through dosing pumps.
Granulation is a continuous process. In the same vessel, granulation and neutralization take place at the same time.
Granulated high density base powder is transferred into the fluid bed, where in the first stage exceeding water is evaporated by hot air. In the second stage, granulated powder is cooled down to a temperature of max. 10°C higher than ambient temperature by means of a cooling air fan.
Exhaust air from the fluid bed is sent to the atmosphere only after being filtered and fines are recycled.
The plant functions are automatic to minimize the number of necessary operators.
All operations are controlled and regulated by advanced PLC system and various local control panels, guiding the plant in accordance to formulate the desired recipes.
By using certain percentages of light base products, it is possible to obtain a final bulk density of 0,35 ÷ 0,40 kg/lt.

Marsina granulation technology offers many economic advantages compared to the conventional spray drying process:
- Money-saving up to 30% on the equipment considering the same production capacity.
- Considerable reduction of energy consumptions and costs, since the plant does not require the preparation of slurry; consequently, there is no evaporation of water.
- Reduction of 40% of building volume, due to simpler layout and to smaller overall dimensions of equipment.
